  • BlueQ Learning Opportunity

    • An introductory class on how to create a basic survey in BlueQ, Creighton's survey tool utilizing Vovici, will be held Tuesday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to noon in the Old Gym, LearnIT Lab, room 401a. Creating surveys and analyzing results can be done with ease in this completely web-based application. It can also be used as a teaching tool for students learning survey methodology.   • Breakfast Bytes: What's New in Security and Phishing

    • Welcome back to another semester of Breakfast Bytes. Please join us for the first Breakfast Bytes of this semester as Bryan McLaughlin, DoIT security officer, covers the latest phishing scams that have hit the campus. Learn how to protect yourself and the Creighton community. A new AMI is coming! McLaughlin also will explain the new and improved AMI (Creighton's address book and more!). There is improved functionality in AMI including the new forgotten password functionality. Refreshments will be served! Breakfast Bytes will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 15, from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. in the Skutt Student Center, room 105.

  • Sampling Considerations Workshop - 09/22/10

    • Registrations are being accepted for the following workshop, which is part of the Research Methodology/Research Case Presentation Series offered by the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions Office of Research. “Sampling Considerations in Research Workshop” will be held Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Harper Center, room 3027. Xiang Fang, Ph.D., will present the workshop from noon to 2 p.m. From 2 to 4 p.m., Fang and Kimberly Galt, Pharm.D., Ph.D., will provide individual consultations and feedback during 20 minute, appointment only sessions. This workshop will cover: common sampling methods used in research, such as random sampling, cluster sampling, stratified sampling and systematic sampling; choosing the appropriate sampling method for the research; and how to determine and calculate the sample size. This workshop is open to all Creighton University faculty and staff. Please bring a brown bag lunch, drinks will be provided. To register for the workshop, complete and return the registration form found on the Office of Research website to Jamie Steemken in Boyne 143 or electronically to jamiesteemken@creighton.edu.   • CHRP Meet the Researcher Series

    • You are invited to an informative 60-minute presentation hosted by Creighton’s Center for Health Services Research and Patient Safety (CHRP). CHRP is hosting a presentation via webinar with Suresh Madhavan, Ph.D., who will present “Building the West Virginia CoHORTS Center” on Thursday, Sept. 16, at 10 a.m. in Boyne 131. Madhavan is director of the West Virginia Collaborative Health Outcomes Research of Therapies and Services (West Virginia CoHORTS).
